[原创]A Birthday Party

“Invitations for my birthday party are here, “said the most popular boy in our class.Instantly, a horde of “fans” were around him, creating a din. I dared not go over to his place, afraid of being chided by classmates, as I was so unpopular, I was still pondering about whether to go, he appeared in front of me.  “This is for you, I hope you will come,” he said as he handed the invitation letter to me.I was overjoyed as it was my first time to be invited to someone’s birthday party. Given my characteristics, I was surprised that he invited me. I must make the best preparation. However, I heard someone muttering, “Hey, I told you not to invite him”. I felt distressed but in the end I still made up my mind to go as this might be the first and last birthday party I will go to.  I was dressed in the best clothes I had and tried to be as neat as possible. My usual attire was singlet and shorts, but this time was a nice red T-shirt. I was so tensed that my heart pounded furiously. The birthday boy gave us a cordial welcome and I manage to cool down a bit. We rushed down to the pool, going to swim as the weather was hot. All of the boys in my class were here, no girls… ha-ha The birthday boy lived in a condominium and the surroundings were so warm and cool. I was not very good at expressing myself and this first ever party I had been to was a good chance of improving myself, I thought. We decided on playing soccer, the only game we could think of. How uncreative, I would have to be the goalkeeper again, I said to myself.  Of course, just like before, I was the goalkeeper whose size could block up half of the goalpost. I hated to run too much in a match, so the best job for me, the goalkeeper. Others may say I was fat and clumsy, but I still could be a goalkeeper and block the ball and I was good at it.The ball bounced to the bushes and went a little deep. Now who shall go and pick the ball? Certainly, I was always the passive one who stood at my usual place-the goalpost, and kept quiet. Lucas, without a word, started to run to the bushes. Just as he was about to reach the bushes, he tripped over a huge tree branch in the way. We saw him fell to the ground and rolled about a bit. That was what some football players usually do after a fall. We were not aware of the seriousness and laughed.  “Aargh! My teeth!” we heard Lucas yelling at the top of his voice.“Oh no! Something’s wrong,” we hurried over to him, scampering.  He held out two front teeth of his and he was sobbing. We consoled him, helped him get to his feet and two of us brought him to the nearby clinic, while the others informed his parents. What a awful thing to happen! We should not joke around too much. Everybody was grim for sometime, but soon got better and cheered up.Dinner time was certainly for me to show my “talents” as I taught some of my classmates to eat prawns.  “Come and take a photo!” Someone yelled. “Now pose!”It was just after another football game but we needed to take a photo. I hurriedly pulled up my pants and went to the most right hand corner and stood. The string of my pants was out and my shirt was half tucked out. Another habit of mine was never posing when I was photographed and I was always at a corner.  The party ended in a cheerful note and everybody enjoyed. I had some characteristics and habits that were different from others, like standing at the side of the picture, keeping quiet when something happened and always saying things to myself, but it did not affect anybody. This was when I was in Primary Five, had these habits changed? I did not know.
