The newly established Nansha Fire Squadron has been allocated a budget of RMB 72 million, which will be spent on building a number of large-scale fire-fighting stations to ensure the safety of chemical enterprises. <br/><br/>As one of Guangzhou's largest chemical bases, Nansha is home to dozens of chemical enterprises, including high-hazard fuel additive manufacturing enterprises, a bonded warehouse with a storage capacity of 330,000 cubic meters, and a large-scale enterprise with an annual production capacity of 220,000 tonnes of chemicals. The large number of chemical enterprises has put a tremendous demand on the district's fire fighting facilities. <br/><br/>Before June 2004, Nansha had only a fire squad equipped with two fire engines. |
