[原创]害人不浅的《每天一起练口语》

网上流传甚广的口语教材，内中的中译注解错误什甚多。其中第九课《每天一起练口语(9)----害羞2》里的一句 “Have a little wine, punk. 小伙子，喝一点酒吧。（可以缓解一下精神紧张）” 真会害人不浅。 Punk 不是 小伙子.  Punk 现时用法是 阿飞，流氓，an aggressive and violent young criminal 等等。你若是乱叫别人 Punk, 必引出横祸.( 本人现居北美。以前在北美读书后教书。前后45多年。你可信我的解释。)Imagine what would happen when you walk up to a stranger in a bar and say to him, “Have a little wine, punk.” I bet he would stand up, look you in the eye, and says, “Who are you calling a punk, you filthy bastard @#&*!~^* (some kind of racial slur)”, and proceeds to punch you in the face.{《每天一起练口语》1。寒暄,  2  快乐…30 用Be动词说话…(31)…(N)} 内的中译注解有很多错误。真是误人子弟。此学习资料不知源出何处，作者是谁。(网上都是你抄我抄，不说来历。把别人的东西抄了来，加个“源出此网页” 。)这学习资料流行得很。可怜那些初学者，不能分辨好坏，错的以为是对的。The very people who need this the most are those beginners who cannot tell right from wrong, and they are the one who would be hurt the most.<span style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; FONT-FAMILY: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: SimSun; mso-hansi-font-family: SimSun; mso-ansi-language: EN-CA; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">  我最近把第一至第三十课看过一片，把其中数十个错误改正及加注解。发了在雨巷英语园地  <a href="http://www.rainlane.com/dispbbs.asp?boardid=11&id=21413" target="_blank">http://www.rainlane.com/dispbbs.asp?boardid=11&id=21413</a> 。现在拿几个出来当例子。使你们相信我不是乱说它们的不是。我只是想初学者不要受害。From Chapter 2:Tell me, is it a boy? 喂，你是男孩吗？-->修改/注解: Obviously, this is a question about if someone is a boy or a girl. The most likely scenario is: “Hey George, my wife has just given birth.”” Tell me, is it a boy?”From Chapter 11: I wonder if it's a real diamond. 它可是地道的钻石呀。-->修改/注解: “I wonder”=I doubt-->我怀疑这是否真的钻石呀。(Continued in the next box.)

I made some corrections to the Chinese annotations accompanying the English text. (Under the penname of “雨横山2” ) Later I went over the first 30 chapter (now 33 chapters) of the set and posted the corrections at http://www.rainlane.com/dispbbs.asp?boardid=11&id=21413  What you see here is a selection from that article.The statement "转贴时拜托请注明转贴,作者及出处" is one that I put into many of my articles at Rainlane. Many of our original articles have been copied by other forum, some with the proper attribution, but some have been released as their originals.
