Molly: Great. I am on a natural high.
Gordon: Why are you so happy?
Molly: Last night I met a new foreigner friend.
Gordon: Really? Go on, tell me more.
Molly: Then she taught me how to dance like a Canadian.
Gordon: Awesome. I am glad to hear that. And then?
Molly: Then she took me back to her apartment.
Gordon: Get out of town? What happened next?
Molly: Then she introduced me to her big Canadian boyfriend.
Gordon: That is terrible, I am sorry to hear that.
Molly: You sure are a great active listener. Can you teach me to be an active listener?
Gordon: Anything for you, if you teach me to dance like a Canadian.

Lessons（课文）
Being an active listener, or one who contributes to the conversation while listening to another person's story or speech, is important. If you are an active listener, you can practice your English more. Use the following activity to improve your active listening skills.
Assignment: In groups, (2-6 people is best) take turns talking on the following topics. While one student talks, the others practice being active listeners. Each student will talk for three minutes, before you move on to the next topic.
Conversation topics: The best day of my life, The worst day of my life, My special family member, My love story, A strange thing that happened at the office, I love or hate my boss.

Molly: I met a country singer from Denver. He is a hunk.
Gordon: I am glad to hear that. And then? Go on?
Molly: I taught him how to recite some Chinese poems and he taught me how to sing "Country Road." However, I was having trouble at first.
Gordon: I am sorry to hear that.
Molly: Don't worry, the handsome hunk was a patient teacher. I think patient teachers are the best.
Gordon: Ditto, I agree. What happened next?
Molly: We held hands and sang the song together.
Gordon: Get out of town? You must be kidding?
Molly: I am not kidding. He is my new boyfriend.
Gordon: Kissing my girlfriend.
Molly: I am really sorry to hear that.
