Read You
读你
Mom, now I call you gently in my heart, I think you might hear the silent voice, don’t you?
Mom, do you remember the song, which is well written and I once sang to you - Mom, Mom is a book, Mom’s eyes is a book full of concern and love, concern and love...
I’ve been fond of the song since I learned it as a little girl. At that time I just enjoyed singing it over and over again, while now I come to realize that to me you’re really a book, a very thick book that I enjoy reading.
Mom, I’ve found that my childhood was full of fun. You were so tall that I had to look up at you. What’s more, you were mild and humorous. I still remember: After hearing a story, I felt thirsty and asked for a glass of water. On the table was a container filled with sugar. And you, wearing a smile, asked me if I’d prefer to choose 2 or 7 spoonfuls of sugar.
“7, of course”, I replied quickly.
When you added the sugar into the bowl with a little spoonful every time, I felt unsatisfied and wondered. You just smiled, saying “If you choose 2 spoonfuls, I’ll give you each full; but 7, only a little.”
After entering junior middle school, I spent most of my time in school, studying and playing with my classmates. Therefore, I prefer to share joys with my friends. Mom, you were strict with me in both study and daily life, so I made great efforts in order to get high marks in exams and competitions. That’s only because I’d like to see your face with smile and comfort. Meanwhile, I could read hope from your eyes.
Then I got into senior middle school. I missed you so much during the first weeks. After all, it was the first time I had been away from home. However, when you told me you often watched me in my photo, I was greatly moved, with tears flowing down my cheeks. Dear mom! I was just like a kite, the end of whose thread is always in your hand, no matter how high I flew.
For years, I’ve learnt much from you. Do you know what I admire you most is when it’s time for the harvest. During those days, you always insisted on doing farming from day to night without having a good meal.
“Mom, aren’t you tired and hungry working so long?” I asked.
“No, I forgot hungry once I began working,” you always said.
“Is that true?” I wondered. But one thing for sure was that you must be very tired, because I once noticed that it was very difficult for you to stand up.
To make our home comfortable, you always worked hard without any complaint. In my eyes you were such a great mother.
You had a regret that you only spent a little time in school, so I’m your hope. I often talked about study with you; especially when I felt depressed, unsmooth or failed. I could see courage from your eyes. “Once you set up a definite aim, you must stick to it. Push yourself as far as you can. What’s the most important to you is to seize the opportunity that brings you a bright future.” You always added,“Never miss it, just like I must sow the seed in the field at the correct of the year.”
Last autumn, when I received the passport to enter the college, I finally saw the most comfort smile in your face. I knew it’s the occasion you had waited for a long time .And it seemed that you looked younger at the moment.
Mom, now I continue turning these pages of the book, but from it I mainly watch much concern and warm words. It seems that it contains far less blaming than ever, do you in favor of my opinion?
In the future, wherever I go and whatever I do, I’ll take it along with me all the time. That’s because it’s really a thick book, which I’d take all my life to read. |
