George: Before I got that one, twelve.
Host: Twelve.
George: Now, when you say you did twelve pilots you have to be careful how you say that. I did twelve, uh, uh, pilot television shows.?You gotta be...you know...
Host: Pilot television shows. Yeah. But I know, I know...I know...
George: It just didn’t sound right when it came out that way.
Host: But I do know that you’ve also been busy in the 3)cockpit of your life.
New Romance?
Host: You know this movie is so great because you have Matt Damon in it and then you have Amanda Peet. I just think every movie made would be so much better if Amanda Peet would be in it.
George: I think you’re right.
Host: I mean, she’s just tremendous, isn’t she?
George: Yeah. She should have been in Platoon.
Host: Yes. Yeah, well you’re just being silly now. But you know what I mean.
George: I do know what you mean and I’ve worked with her before. I worked with her in One Fine Day as well. She’s a wonderful actress.
Host: And do you get to spend time with her? Free time? I know the shooting schedule is always very 4)hectic.
George: Well, I wasn’t in any scenes with her, but we were all in 5)Morocco together, which is good fun.
Host: Oh. Was that where the film was shot?
George: Morocco. 6)Dubai. 7)The Persian Gulf.
Host: You really get the sense that you are in the Persian Gulf because it’s just got this kind of 8)putty colored 9)haze over everything. It’s very, very 10)evocative. 11)Provocative. One of those two. But now, let’s get back to Amanda Peet. You see...
George: Yes.
Host: You have spent time with her or you 've not spent time with her?
George: I have spent time with her. I saw her last night, for instance.
Host: Oh.
George: At the premiere.
Host: Of the film? The premiere...
George: The film premiere. And she asked about you.
Host: No, I know she didn’t ask about me. Was the premiere here, or in California?
George: It was here.
Host: Oh, the premiere here.
George: You probably just...
Host: Yeah, I’ll have to check my e-mail when I get upstairs. Ah, but she seems like a lovely woman.
George: She’s great. She’s really, really, really nice.
Host: She’s not here with you now, though.
George: No, she’s not.
Love Scene or Action Scene?
Host: I heard something, and I know very little about this other than it didn’t sound good, it actually sounded dangerous. You had injured yourself, and I think you were supposed to be on the show, not so very long ago, and because of this injury you could not be here. I got that correct, right?
George: Is that what we told you?
Host: That’s what people told me.
George: Yeah, well, we use that as an excuse sometimes...No, I had a little back injury.
Host: How did you hurt yourself?
George: It’s a little personal, but I’ll tell you anyway. I put on about 30 pounds or so for a movie I was working on...
Host: In what length of time?
George: In a month.
Host: Really?
George: It requires some eating.
Host: Yeah. Did you just kinda like double up the 12)dosage? Or how did you do that?
George: Well, I have a place in Italy, and I just sat on a lake and ate. And I ate, and I 13)swelled up like a 14)tick on a hound dog.
Host: Yeah.
George: That’s a Kentucky phrase. I have to say that.
Host: Exactly...So, now you’re 30 pounds heavier than your normal weight.
George: Well, not now. But then, yes.
Host: Well, then. Yeah, right.
George: And then I was doing all those things that you think you can do. You know, that you’re fairly sure you can do...
Host: Right.
George: ...at 43, which I couldn’t. And I got injured. And I tore all of the 15)lining around my 16)spine. So I’ve had to have a lot of operations to 17)seal it up.
Host: Wow.
George: You loose 18)spinal 19)fluid, is what happens. And that hurts.
Host: Right. I have many questions about this. First of all, what were you doing that you thought that you could do? Was it some kind of 20)stunt for the film?
George: It was a love scene, as a matter of fact.
Host: Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!And it 21)ripped the 22)sheathing around your 23)spinal cord! Wow!
George: I don’t want to tell you who it was with. Matt Damon was there, though.
Host: 24)Yikes. Look out!
