Nate is working at The Corner Market. He is waiting for Eve. He looks at the clock. It is almost 1:00. Eve starts work at 12:30. She is late. Nate is angry. It’s raining outside. Nate is angry about that, too. He does not want to wait for Eve anymore. He gets ready to leave. Just then, he hears some loud thunder, and Eve walks in.

(Eve has an umbrella.)

Nate: Eve! Why are you so late?

Eve: I’m sorry. Nate.

Nate: I have to go. Give me your umbrella.

Eve: Use your own umbrella!

Nate: I don’t have one. Give me yours.

Eve: Why?

Nate: It didn’t rain during lunchtime! But I couldn’t leave at lunch. You weren’t here!

Eve: Nate, I’m sorry. What else can I say?
