Lash It's a verb. It means "hit heavily". I found this word is useful since it could be used as follows: Sample sentence: A. The wind is lashing at the window. The storm is coming. 风猛烈地击打着窗户，暴风雨就要来了。 B. Did you hear the sound of wind lashing at our roof? It sounds terrible. 听见吹在屋顶的风声了吗？很吓人的。
