China's commerce ministry will launch an anti-monopoly probe into Comcast Corp's plannedpurchase of DreamWorks Animation. Theinvestigation comes after it received unspecifiedcomplaints that the U.S. media deal could hurtcompetition in the Chinese market. Comcast, ownerof NBCUniversal, said in April it would pay $3.8 billionto buy DreamWorks, the producer of the "Kung FuPanda" and "Shrek" franchises. Dreamworks was also one of the first Hollywood names to opena production studio in China. China's film market, the world's second largest, is a magnet forfilm producers looking to tap the country's 1.4 billion people.
