题目

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?Young people today know more about the world events than their parents did before. Include details and examples in your explanation.

精批

@北京-在职-11、19Personally speaking, I think young people today know more about the world events than their parents did before, because a lot of advanced technologies or media bring us more convenience today. Well you know, in the past, if our parents wanted to get information, they would read newspaper or chat to(chat后接宾语,一般加to或with) their neighbors. However, today we can use a lot of procedures(?sorry,没听清楚) among media to get information in no time, such as mobile phone, TV and computer. So in this way, we can get information about world events more efficiently and accurately.

Language use:

Topic development:

11.12Personally speaking, I definitely believe nowadays young people know more world events than their parents did before, because nowadays there are various ways for us to get information, such as the Internet, the social media and the TV programs. However, in the past, our parents can only get news from the traditional newspapers. I’d like to read news from the social media, such as the Wechat public account, and the Facebook. I can select the particular topic I am interested into and to(删) get some information from them. However, my parents can only know some of their interests by reading the newspaper. It is waste of the time.

并且说到waste of the time时,这样的表达语气有些重。

As far as I am concerned, young people now have a much broader world view than their parents did. First, considering the advent of communication technology, we can now learn the world events at one click of a button on our computers or cellphones. The information provided on line is up-to-date, easy to access and widely available to the public. This kind of technology was simply unavailable thirty years ago. Secondly, education nowadays is more focused on international events, rather than domestic issues. As globalization spreads around the world, youngsters have broader visions on matters beyond their national boundaries than their parents would have before. That’s why I think the younger generations have a much broader understanding of events than their parents did.
