Amid a widespread smog crisis, China vows to put 361 billion dollars into clean renewable energy by 2020.

China is the world’s largest energy consumer, and a recent study shows air pollution causes close to a third of all deaths nationwide,largely because of its reliance on coal.

中国是世界上最大的能源消耗国，近日一项研究表明中国三分之一的死亡都和空气污染有关，很大原因是因为其对煤炭的依赖。

But on Jan.5th, China’s energy agency announced that it’s making strides to move away from coal with a five-year investment plan between 2016 and 2020.

但是在一月5号，中国能源机构发布了2016至2020五年投资计划，试图减少对煤炭的依赖。

The government expects the investment will creat up to 13 million jobs.

政府期待这项投资能创造1300万个工作岗位。

In the last few years, renewable energy, in many cases, has gotten cheaper.

For example, Reuters reports the cost of large-scale solar plants has dropped by as much as 40 percent since 2010.

And the plan won’t exactly turn China’s coal extinct.

但是这项计划不会让中国停止使用煤。

Projections say renewables will only make up about 15 percent of the country’s total energy by 2020, and coal will still make up more than half.

预测称在2020年前，可再生能源只会占中国全部能源的15%,煤炭仍占据一半以上。
