“机会来的时候要抓住它。”

很多同学都用了chance和opportunity来表达“机会”，那么到底哪个才是合适呢？

Chance

它有一个意思是“概率”，也就是结果有不确定性。

比如：

There's a chance of meeting my mr. right today. 今天我可能会遇到我的白马王子。（意思是可能会遇到，可能不会遇到）



⚠️ 但是这个时候就不能说：

❌ There's an opportunity ofmeeting my mr. right today.(opportunity表示原本就想遇到，在认为的刻意安排下有了机会，让心愿成真）

再比如：

I think there is a chance that he will say yes. 他有可能会同意。

翻译：

Chance另一个意思是机会，机遇，跟opportunity很像。

Opportunity

意思是机会，机遇。

通常用来表示一个积极的，用来表现自己的机遇，或者是可以让你成功的机会或者时机，或者是做一件事比较容易的时机。

比如：

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel.我很幸运有这个旅行机会。
