A long time ago, there was an emperor who told his horseman that if he could ride on his horse and cover as much land area as he liked, then the emperor would give him the area of land he had covered.

很久很久以前，有一位国王，他告诉他的骑师，如果他骑着他的马，能跑多大一片地方就跑多大地方，国王就会赐给他那片土地。

Sure enough, the horseman quickly jumped onto his horse and rode as fast as possible to cover as much land area as he could. He kept on riding and riding, whipping the horse to go as fast as possible. When he was hungry or tired, he did not stop because he wanted to cover as much area as possible. He came to a point when he had covered a substantial area and he was exhausted and was dying.

果然，那个骑师飞快地跳上了马，尽快地跑，尽可能多占一些土地。他不停地骑呀，骑呀，鞭打着马快跑。饥饿或是疲劳的时候，他也没有停下来，因为他想尽可能多覆盖一些土地。终于，他跑过了非常大的一块地方，自己也累得快要死了。

Then he asked himself, “Why did I push myself so hard to cover so much land area? Now I am dying and I only need a very small area to bury myself.”

然后他问自己：“我为什么卖命去占据这么大一块土地呢？现在我快死了，我只需要那么一点点地方埋葬自己。”

The above story is similar with the journey of our Life. We push very hard everyday to make more money, to gain power and recognition. We neglect our health, time with our family and to appreciate the surrounding beauty and the hobbies we love to do. One day when we look back, we will realize that we don’t really need that much, but then we cannot turn back for what we have missed.

上面的故事和我们的人生之旅十分相似。我们每天都拼命挣更多的钱，去赢得权力和人们的认可。我们忽视了自己的健康，忽视了同家人团聚的时间，也忽视了欣赏周围的美景以及我们的业余爱好。有一天，回首往事，我们会意识到我们并不真的需要那么多，但那时，我们已不能回去找回丢失的东西了。

Life is not about making money, acquiring power or recognition. Life is definitely not about work! Work is only necessary to keep us living so as to enjoy the beauty and pleasures of life. Life is a balance of Work and Play, Family and Personal time. You have to decide how you want to balance your Life.

生活并不只是要挣钱，获取权力，贏得认可。生活也一定不仅仅是工作！工作只是为了使我们能够生存，以便享受美和生活的乐趣。生活是一种工作和娱乐、家庭和个人时间的平衡。你必须决定怎样平衡你的生活。

In fact, happiness is the meaning and the purpose of Life, the whole aim of human existence. So, take it easy, do what you want to do and appreciate nature. Life is fragile, and Life is short. Do not take Life for granted. Live a balanced lifestyle and enjoy Life!

事实上，幸福才是生活的意义和目的，才是人类生存的全部目标。因此，放轻松些，做你想做的事情，欣赏大自然。生命是脆弱而短暂的，不要把生命看作理所当然。用一种平衡的方式生活，享受人生！
