Lunar samples collected from the moon's far side by China's Chang'e 6 mission have been delivered to their final carrier, which will later bring them to Earth, according to the China National Space Administration.
China on Friday launched a second lander to the lunar far side. If the mission is successful, it will be the first to bring back a sample from the part of moon that Earth never sees.
Samples collected by the Chang'e 6 lander could provide key clues into the origin and evolution of the moon, Earth and the solar system, experts say – while the mission itself provides important data and technical practice to advance China's lunar ambitions.
