美大学推出“午夜课堂”半夜三点上课

With enrollment surging at community colleges, Anne Arundel Community College is taking a novel approach: midnight classes。

　　The college will offer a psychology class from midnight to 3 am Thursdays this fall. It's being dubbed "Midnight Madness."

　　The class was dreamed up by Matt Yeazel, the head of the psychologydepartment. He said introductory courses have been overflowing inrecent semesters, so he settled on the new time slot as a way to reachmore students. Paul Vinette will be teaching the class. He said it's abold and innovative move for a "brick-and-mortar institution."

　　Community colleges in Massachusetts, Indiana, Missouri and Oregonhave also started offering late-night classes. Enrollment at two-yearschools is up 17 percent this year。

　　据美联社28日报道，马里兰州阿诺德市，一所两年制社区大学将于今年秋季推出一门心理学课程，授课时间定为每周四凌晨0时至3时，因此被戏称“午夜疯狂”。

　　对此，心理系主任解释说，近几个学期基础课程总是满员，如此安排是为方便更多学生选课。“学生太多，让我们绞尽脑汁。”将担纲“午夜课堂”的老师无奈地称，“这所‘木头脑袋’的学校已经把事情做到极端了”。

　　据称，美国两年制大学的入学人数今年增长了17%，马萨诸塞、印第安纳、密苏里等州都有类似课程。但多数学生认为“午夜课堂”会影响次日上午听课，“只有夜猫子能适合”。
