☆        I’ve been looking forward to meeting you for a long time.

Kim’s Note:

I always recognize Crazy English students when I hear them speak this sentence. I once even heard a doctor in a hospital greet Teacher Li with this sentence. I was surprised to hear someone else use this sentence. I didn’t think a middle-aged doctor would be a student of Crazy English. I was thrilled when he said that he had been studying Crazy English for years. Crazy English is really for everyone and this sentence is really something worth showing off!

Most Classical Sentences

Top 1: He had been training for the marathon for ten years.

24.        A:        These are some photos of my family.

B:        Wow! They’re lovely. I wish I had some photos of mine to show you.

(1) 以-s, -x, -sh, -ch结尾的名词复数形式加-es;

(2) 以“辅音字母+o”结尾的名词,一般加-es构成复数形式,少数外来词如photo, piano, memo等后加-s;

(3) 以“辅音字母+y”结尾的名词,变y为i,然后加-es;

(1)        Many girls like to chat with friends on the phone.

(2)        We have six English classes every week.

(8)        Guangzhou is one of the most energetic cities in Asia.

(9)        The leaves are gorgeous in Beijing during the fall.

(10)        These are beliefs that all Americans and Chinese share.

1)改变元音字母,如manmen, footfeet, toothteeth, mousemice, etc.;2)词尾加-en或-ren,如childchildren, oxoxen, etc.;

3)单复数同形,如deer, sheep, Chinese, etc.;

27. A:        Say hello to your family.

B:        I will.Thank you.

B:        No wonder you’re so popular.

(1)        The Chinese are a great people.

(2)        America is made up of many peoples.

Kim’s Note:

This can be very confusing for Chinese students. Even Teacher Li made a mistake in his movie. He told a reporter from TIME magazine, “I am just an ordinary people.” I heard a very arrogant reporter from Hong Kong question him about this mistake, and he responded the same way you should. He said, “I’m a human being. I make mistakes. I am not perfect. I am learning all the time.” He’s right. There is nothing wrong with making a mistake. In fact, it’s one of the best ways to learn!

29. A:        Don’t spend too much money on clothes.

☆        I could have done better if I had been more careful.

【Kim

☆        I could have shown you around the city if I had known you were in Beijing.

Unexpected Guests

(1) Linda had a very difficult situation at her house a few days ago.Her relatives from Hong Kong arrived unexpectedly, without any advance notice at all, and they wanted to stay for the weekend. They didn’t even knock at the door. They just walked right in.

(2) Needless to say, Linda was very upset. If she had known that her relatives from H.K. were going to arrive and want to stay for the weekend, she would have been prepared for their visit. She would have bought a lot of food. She would have cleaned the house. She would have made plans to go sightseeing. She would have cooked a special dinner. She would have planned everything perfectly. And she certainly wouldn’t have invited all her daughter’s friends from nursery school to come over and play.

(3) Poor Linda! She really wishes her relatives had called in advance to say they were coming. The weekend was really a disaster!

My Life Story

By Li Yang

I was born in a poor family in Jiangsu.

I grew up with my grandparents.

Because my parents chose to work in Xinjiang to serve the country right after they graduated from university.

My mother just came back to Jiangsu to give birth to me, and then returned to Xinjiang.

My parents were busy working everyday.

They were very devoted to their country.

They had no time for me.

I was an extremely shy and introverted child.

I had no confidence in myself at all.

I was ashamed of my appearance.

I was a terrible student.

I had few friends.

My mother beat me severely.

So I hated her very much.

I wanted to hit her back.

But I didn’t dare.

Because I had nowhere else to go.

I wanted to be good.

But I just didn’t how.

I wanted to be excellent.

I wanted to be successful.

I wanted to do something great.

I had big dreams.

But I had no one to help me!

No one could teach me.

I was really lonely.

I didn’t know whom to turn to.

My parents simply didn’t like me and didn’t understand me.

My childhood was a nightmare.

I felt so bad about myself.

Even now I don’t like to think about it.

My life was like this for ten years.

Things only started to change when I decided to learn English in 1988.

I created my own way of learning English.

I called it Crazy English.

Crazy English totally changed my life.

How I wish my parents had known how to raise kids.

How I wish I had met a great teacher when I was young.

How I wish I had had someone to turn to for advice when I was puzzled.

That’s why I’m determined to devote all my life to real education!

I’m going to spend the rest of my life making sure other people don’t have to struggle the way I did.

I don’t care about being famous.

I don’t care about making money.

I only care about helping others.

I only care about improving myself.

I will make a difference in this world!

But I know I still have a long way to go.

Please join me to give our kids the best education possible.
