The National Citizen Identity Information Center will start charging for its services, requiring an RMB5 to RMB10 fee from those seeking to confirm a citizen's identity. The "identity authentication fee" is needed when the center is asked to check if a person's identity information is in accordance with official data or not, the National Development and Reform Commission said Thursday on its website.
