Liquids banned in luggage

The General Administration of Civil Aviation of China is mulling stricter rules on flight passengers in a bid to ensure aviation security,an insider revealed Wednesday.Passengers might be banned from carrying liquid materials of all forms during their flight,and a series of VIP services for business-class travelers might also be halted during the Beijing Olympic Games to be held in August.Besides,transportation of dangerous goods will aslo be stopped before the Games ends

Hu's Japan visit not delayed

President Hu Jintao will pay a state visit to Japan in the near term,the first visit by a Chinese president to the neighbor in the new century,Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said Wednesday at a press conference held on the sideline of the NPC annual session."There is no such issue as the postponement of President Hu's visit,"he said,adding the foreign affairs departments of the two countries are currently discussing details of the visit.

Wall Street rise on Fed plan

Wall Street finally found a reason for a huge rally Tuesday after the Federal Reserve said it plans to pump $200 billion into the financial markets to help ease the strain from the credit crisis.The European Central Bank,theBank of Canada and the Swiss National Bank also agreed to loan investment banks
money to increase the liquidity of the financial market.The Dow Jones industrial average shot up nearly 416 points,its biggest gain since July 2002.
