Do you like such "girlfriend voice"?

平时在办公室不苟言笑，大男人味十足的家伙跟他女儿讲话时可能会变成另外一个人。商场上咄咄逼人的女强人在另一半面前也可能是轻声细语、小鸟依人的样子。这样的角色转变我们都不陌生，或许每天都在经历。所以，如果身边有个男士时不时地用girlfriend voice跟女友说话，大家也不会觉得太稀奇吧。

Girlfriend voice refers to the change in pitch or tone of a man's voice when talking to their significant other. The girlfriend voice is characterized by a higher pitch and a more effeminate tone with speech patterns scattered with pet names and childish words.

女友专用调（girlfriend voice）指男士在跟自己的另一半说话时声调和语气上的变化。这种变化主要体现为：声调提高、语调更显温柔，并且不时夹杂着各种爱称和幼稚的语言。

This type of speech is usually frowned upon when used in the presence of other men. When another man uses this voice they will usually receive a fair amount of ridicule.

有其他男士在场的情况下，这种语调通常会被嗤之以鼻。如果有男士用这种语调说话，经常会受到嘲讽。

It depends. To me it's ok to use a girlfriend voice when men talk to their significant one in private. But it sounds ridiculous in public that men talk in an effeminate tone with so many pet names and childish words.

hehe.I agree to what the former said.I usually talk gently to people .especially to the one I like or love .but sometimes I lost my temperwhen talked to my family in my past ages...I think it's a process to change to be mature and have a good control of our feelings..

it is his own business in what tone or pitch a man talks to his significant other. but i'll feel sick if a man talks to me in such a boring voice.

i don't know what women think of this. i can think that a woman will feel sick too if one of her male colleagues speak to her in the girlfriend voice unless there are a special relationship between them.

I can accept the "girlfriend voice".but it depends what kind of the occasion.i think it's necessary to use "girlfriend voice" in some specific situation especially when a father talk to theirlittle child,that's is a expression of father's love.
