Do you know the difference between "coworker" and "colleague"? Both words mean "同事". But "coworker" is more casual than "colleague". So "coworker" is more used in daily conversation. And "colleague" is more used in written English. There are other two words "associate" and "comrade" which sometimes confuse English learners. "Associate" also means "同事""合伙人". It's more like "colleague". But "comrade" means "死党,铁哥们" and "同志" as we all know from our Chinese English teaching textbooks. The word "partner" means "合作伙伴,搭档", but can also mean "配偶,伴侣,枕边人". So use it carefully. |
