Sorry to interrupt the daily threads here, but I think to use the words in practise will make better effect. So here comes these three little simple words, pain, ache and hurt, all of which represent certain degree of pain, the question is what kind of pain desires which word? I once heard an very good explanation regarding this.
one day you take a bus,
you bumped your head,
this is called "hurt";
then you sit down, still feeling your forehead sore and not comfortable,
this is called "ache";
if the bump is so hard that it's still hurt when you accidentally touch your head,
this is called "pain".
Simple? It is. |
