Israeli police have recommended that a third set of charges be brought against outgoing Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. The police said that after lengthy investigations, they believed three was sufficient evidence to charge Mr Olmert with froud and breach of public trust. The charges date back to Mr Olmert's time as trade and industry minister between 2003 and 2006. Mr Olmert, who denies any wrongdoing, resigned a general election. He remains as caretaker PM. Following the poll, Benjamin Netanyahu was asked to form a coalition government. The police said that during his ministerial term," a deep conflict of interest" arose when Mr Olmert used his position to channel development grants to a company run by his lawyer.
