Boeing announced a new low cost carrier in China will purchase 50 of its 737 planes

波音(Boeing)宣布中国一家新成立的廉价航空公司将购买50架该公司的737飞机。

Prices aren't given, but Boeing's website lists 737 jet prices in a range from $76m to $109.9m each (see below), putting the total between $3.8bn and $5.5bn.

The buyer is 9 Air, a Guangzhou-based low-cost airline operated by Juneyao Airlines.

Boeing said the order includes 50 737s, including Next-Generation 737s and 737 MAXs.

When SpiceJet bought 42 737 Max jets in March, the list price was $4.4bn.

Boeing said the order will be posted to its Orders & Deliveries website "once all contingencies are cleared."

It also said of 9 Air:“The airline intends to introduce the world's best-selling, 737 family of airplanes into its fleet as it prepares to launch revenue service later this year.

Last month, Boeing said it delivered the 8,000th 737 jet, "the first commercial airplane in history to reach this delivery milestone."
