跑步人群增多催生跑步经济,“跑步经济”英语怎么说?

最近几年,身边跑步的人越来越多。自然催生了对运动装备的需求。于是,跑步经济应运而生。

我们来看一段相关的英文报道

There are two areas in which runners are prime consumers: footwear and events. In addition, runners often spend on other areas, such as apparel, accessories, books, magazines, coaching, specialty food and drink, and so on.

The number of runners is increasing, and the economics of running is growing with it.

Runners are always going to need shoes and they are always going to be looking for races. Both of these markets have matured during the past 30 or more years, but if history is any guide, are nowhere near saturation, because shoes will continue to wear out and events are even more disposable.

跑步人群有两个主要的消费领域:跑步鞋和赛事。此外,他们还会在服装、配饰、书籍、杂志、教练、专用饮食等方面有支出。

随着跑步人群逐渐壮大,跑步经济也随之发展起来。跑步的人总是需要买鞋,他们也一直都会找一些赛事去参与。跑步装备和赛事市场在过去30多年间日趋成熟,但还远远没有达到饱和的状态,因为跑鞋总会穿破,而赛事总是办完一个还有另一个。

【讲解】

文中的the economics of running就是“跑步经济”的意思,其中economics用作名词,意为“经济学”,作主语时,其谓语动词用单数,如:Economics is my favorite subject.(经济学是我最喜欢的学科。)注意与economic(经济的,经济上的)以及economical(节俭的;经济的;合算的)相区别。

第一段中的accessory用作名词,意为“附件;配件”,常见的词汇搭配有:bicycle accessories(自行车附件)、skiing accessories(滑雪附带用品)、smoking accessories(烟具)。
