carry: tends to emphasize the means by which something is moved or the fact of supporting off the ground while moving: ~ied the basket on her head.


bear: stresses the effort of sustaining or the importance of what is carried: ~ the flag aloft.    （sustain承受to support a weight without breaking or falling，如the ice will not sustain your weight这冰承受不了你的体重，可以理解为sustain就是support，但更正式）
